Bizspace calls on Corps Security to safeguard business centres

Corps Security and solutions partner Keyways have been appointed by leading flexible workspace provider, Bizspace, to supply remote CCTV and alarm monitoring, access control and concierge services for three of its sites in Preston, Blackburn and Rochdale.

The agreement will allow these locations to benefit from 24/7 remote security via the state-of-the-art Corps Monitoring Centre (CMC) in Glasgow.

Founded in 2000 with just one site, Bizspace provides flexible workspace accommodation for both the small to medium sized enterprise (SME) and corporate markets, and has now expanded its portfolio to 110 locations across England and Scotland.

The company’s property director, Lisa Risk, commented: “Bizspace provides the easiest, most flexible and cost-effective way to occupy workspace in the UK. We recognise that security is incredibly important in keeping our clients and their property safe, and have implemented a programme of continual improvement in this area of our business.”

Optimising the existing infrastructure

After completing an internal security audit, Risk contacted Corps Security’s CMC business development director Eric Roberts and asked him to make a series of recommendations to further optimise its infrastructure.

Roberts explained: “We’ve worked with Bizspace on an ad hoc basis for a number of years now, but this project gave us an opportunity to make a comprehensive set of suggestions that would allow the company to reconfigure its operation and put in place the best possible security system.”

Once a suitable plan of action had been agreed, Manchester-based security installation specialist and Corps Security partner Keyways was appointed to carry out a full product upgrade. This included the configuration of a new intruder alarm solution, door entry and access control systems in addition to CCTV with video analytics.

The latter uses software algorithms for the analysis of images in order to detect alarm conditions such as an intruder moving into a restricted area and also has the capability to only transmit images when an actual event occurs.

Remote monitoring as part of the solution

As part of his recommendations, Roberts also suggested remote monitoring as an effective way to ensure round the clock surveillance and invited Risk and her team to Glasgow to see the CMC for themselves.

They were thoroughly impressed with what they saw there. Risk stated: “There’s no doubt that the Corps CMC sets a new benchmark in remote monitoring. Not only does it use the best technology on the market, it’s also the smartest and most well presented facility that I’ve ever seen.”

In addition to CCTV monitoring, Corps Security is also providing a remote concierge service for Bizspace. Now, when a person tries to gain entry via a door entry system, staff at the CMC can restrict access by using a combination of CCTV-based facial recognition and a pre-defined list of questions in order to screen individuals.

Eric Roberts concluded: “The CMC is the most modern and truly independent third party facility of its kind in the UK. Bizspace joins an ever-growing list of companies that are benefiting from using it, and I’m looking forward to developing our business relationship in the future.”

TDSi announces partnership with Corps Security

Access control systems specialist TDSi recently announced a strategic partnership with specialist security services provider Corps Security. The collaboration will provide integrated solutions for customers and increase sales leads for both businesses.

TDSi and Corps Security agreed the partnership following an introduction through a mutual customer. Corps Security is well-known for providing comprehensive alarm monitoring and security services, and the aforementioned Glasgow ARC is one of the most modern and truly independent third party ARCs in the UK.

Corps Security offers its customers a consultancy service delivered via renowned security experts that can perform a wide range of bespoke services such as risk and threat assessments. This ensures that a customer always receives a tailored security solution that perfectly suits their needs.

The service Corps Security provides complements TDSi’s own access control solutions perfectly as its expert access security and manufacturing knowledge enables both TDSi’s products and Corps Security to provide customers with exemplary security support.

John Davies – managing director at TDSi – told Info4Security: “This is a great partnership as it offers our customers even further added value. Not only will their access security be fully integrated, but it will be supported via a leading ARC. Fully integrated business security is becoming a key factor, and to be able to add value to our service means TDSi can stand out among its competitors as a provider of a truly integrated service.”

The partnership between TDSi and Corps Security works by ensuring real-time monitoring of access events at the Corps’ ARC from TDSi’s access management software situated at the end user’s premises. The benefit of this is that the ARC has detailed information of any alarm situation captured via EXgarde PRO.

Further work is being carried out to integrate the two systems and allow remote management of the access systems from the ARC. This enhanced integration will further improve the response time to a triggered alarm and engender the very highest levels of reliability.
