Boost for G4S in Government’s CAESER assessment
CAESER is an inclusive Government programme of supplier engagement in environmental, social and economic issues, and provides a supplier assurance programme primarily adopted by public sector procurement specialists.
At its heart is a structured approach to engaging suppliers on key areas of the Government’s sustainability agenda, among them a commitment to environmental, social and economic responsibility.
The third year in succession that G4S has improved its results, this time around the company was particularly commended for its excellence in the areas of environmental protection, social inclusion and economic stability and development.
Patrick Toyne-Sewell – corporate affairs director for G4S Secure Solutions in the UK and Ireland – told SMT Online: “To have achieved a score of 75% in the CAESER Essentials rating is a fantastic achievement. It proves that we’re managing to integrate Corporate Social Responsibility strategies and performance throughout our businesses.”
Toyne-Sewell added: “To have improved for a third consecutive year is a demonstration of our very real commitment in relation to the CSR impact of everything we do.”
Secure Trax business solution launched
At the same time, G4S Secure Solutions (UK) has launched Secure Trax, an innovative technological business solution designed to “fuse people, processes and technology and deliver business critical information to customers in real time.”
According to an official statement, this new solution will improve safety and security for G4S’ customers, saving time and reducing costs.
G4S developed Secure Trax to improve the service that its customers receive. The solution replaces ‘MyG4S’ with a new interface employing innovative, customised technology to deliver industry-specific, business critical information in a user-friendly format.
The new solution, which has been piloted by a number of G4S’ customers, consists of four modules: inspection management, command centre, incident management and customer information.
It provides real-time, on-demand data to security personnel and managers via a secure web-based server. All customer security information is integrated and consolidated, which reduces administrative time spent managing data and makes reporting far quicker and easier.
Saving clients time and money
Stephen Miles, the head of IT at G4S Secure Solutions (UK), commented: “We’re delighted to offer this new solution to our customer base. It will not only save them time and money by reducing the time spent on administrative tasks, but will also provide business critical information to allow customers to make informed security decisions and protect their employees and assets more effectively.”
Secure Trax enables security officers to execute live reporting and feedback information electronically and on the move. The system replaces the need to manually fill out lengthy forms, which are re-keyed back into a database.
Customers can receive information through instant, automatic incident alerts via SMS and e-mail which will ensure a security breach is dealt with as efficiently as possible to ensure minimal disruption and ‘business as usual’.
The detailed incident management analysis helps users to identify trends and implement preventative measures to avoid potential damage and the associated costs.
Secure Trax is flexible and ‘technology agnostic’, enabling G4S to integrate the solution with multiple existing hardware solutions and ensure that customers don’t incur the costs associated with running two systems at the same time.
It also helps organisations to improve safety and security by providing inspection management information and instant reporting to confirm security operations have been completed.
Secure Trax assists in making sure that organisations are compliant with Health and Safety regulations by providing detailed audit trails.
