Brooknight rolls out Bconnected’s Itrac wireless tracking system for manned guarding

Brooknight is using Bconnected’s Itrac wireless tracking system to monitor all its manned guarding operations.

The system uses biometric identification via wall-mounted fingerprint readers to monitor guard time and attendance relaying data in real time via GPRS mobile cellular networks.

Jim Moyes, managing director of Brooknight, said: “We looked at a number of systems and chose Itrac for its ability to monitor staff in real-time on remote sites that had no network infrastructure.

“Deploying the Itrac system has resulted in improved guard management and safety, increased response times and a reduction in potential exposure on protected sites.

“Following successful trials we are rolling out the system and now have over 50 sites using Itrac throughout the UK.

“Manned guarding is an extremely competitive and cost driven market. To stay at the forefront and maintain our competitive edge, we must add value wherever possible.

“We are now able to provide our clients with complete visibility and guarantee all guarding activity through this easy to deploy biometric wireless monitoring system.”

Lone workers
Itrac is designed to be particularly beneficial where security personnel are working alone, or where there are larger teams on complex assignments with regular patrols to make.

Itrac delivers instant alert notifications if a patrol is missed, or if a team member is unexpectedly absent.

Full audit reports are provided in a clear format via web access 24/7 allowing investigation and follow up afterwards.

Security officers are identified biometrically using fingerprint scanners, authenticating a unique identity of the individual, the location and time stamp.

Each time a security officer logs on data is uploaded via GPRS and processed instantly at the Itrac data centre.

Real time data
Alerts and warnings messages can be sent if pre-defined activity does not take place and data can be viewed in real time on a secure customer portal.

Bconnected MD Darren Marsh said: “The Itrac system offers important benefits for health & safety, time and attendance and service level delivery.

“This development goes far beyond the traditional guard tour formula and gives real-time control, and reassurance, to both security managers and contract companies.”
