Chiron supports Norwegian alarms market with appointment of Frode Haugseth
Frode has been associated with Chiron since 1999 and, as an independent distributor for the company over the last six years, has played a key role in helping Norwegian customers upgrade from old fixed line solutions to secure alarm transmission via IP.
Now, as the adoption of Iris technology continues to rapidly expand, Frode is being officially welcomed to the Chiron team and will concentrate on delivering increased support to monitoring centres and developing distribution channels in Norway.
Chiron’s chief operating officer, Kevin Swann, confirmed that the company has ambitious development targets for the Scandinavian/Norwegian markets.
“Our aim is to build on our already strong position in IP alarm transmission and grow our business strongly during 2011, 2012 and beyond,” ststed Swann.
Market leader for IP alarm signal transmission
Frode Haugseth said Chiron is now well placed as the overall market leader in IP alarm transmission in Norway.
“Chiron was the first company in this market to offer products for alarm transmission via IP, and the first to offer all products approved by insurance companies,” he said.
“Our success in Norway is a direct result of innovation and technical leadership.”
Chiron Security Communications’ products are now used in a number of applications, such as connecting standard alarm panels to ISDN, dual path signalling, video surveillance and alarm connections over private IP networks, etc.
Indeed, the company has been designing and developing communications systems for the security industry for over 18 years, with solutions that are now relied upon by banks and insurance companies as well as security systems providers themselves.
Chiron’s Iris Touch: first IP/GPRS alarm signaller to achieve INCERT approval
Chiron’s Iris Touch alarm signalling technology has become one of the first to gain approval from INCERT, the leading Belgian intruder alarm technology approvals body.
This latest success for the Iris Touch range follows the EN certifications gained in both 2009 and 2010 from the reputed, independent VdS test house and, according to an official press statement, further confirms “Chiron’s significant technological lead over its competitors”.
Chiron has consistently pulled ahead of other developers in the alarm transmission sector, with its successful track record of independent product testing in key European markets including Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Scandinavia and now Belgium.
In addition to these European markets, the Chiron Iris Touch products were recently certified in both China and Australia.
The latest INCERT certification has been awarded to Chiron’s market-leading Iris Touch 200 series, 400 series and 600 series including all the GPRS, IP and dual path IP/GPRS variants.
It means that Iris Touch technology can now be used in Belgium to migrate any existing control panel to IP alarm transmission, providing an easy, economical and totally secure solution to the changes in telecom networks.
Secure Apps platform in Belgium
Leading ARCs in Belgium are now equipped with the Iris Secure Apps receiving and management platform, including Alert Services, ECS, G4S, Oktopus, PraXis and SMC.
Chiron’s Iris system is “Europe’s best-selling IP alarm transmission solution” served by over 233 ARCs and with more than 55,000 units in the field in 31 countries.
