CNL scoops Frost and Sullivan Award

Since 2001, CNL has been recognised as a pioneer in the rapidly growing integrated IP-based security solutions market, duly winning its first international award for hosted video management software back in 2004.

The company has now advanced to offer one of the most comprehensive and easy-to-use integrated situation management solutions available in the market.

In order to lead the integrated situation management market further, and to deliver fully-compliant command and control solutions for all industry segments, CNL has now developed IPSecurityCenter.

Manage, measure and minimise risk

This solution allows customers to manage, measure and minimise their exposure to security risk by providing them with highly scalable, flexible and secure solutions for multiple CCTV, access control, fire and intruder alarm systems, building management, environmental monitoring and enterprise systems.

According to CNL’s official press statement: “IPSecurityCenter delivers complete visibility and control of its customers’ entire operation.”

CNL has long been an advocate of open technology approaches to its clients’ security needs, in turn opposing the closed proprietary systems that currently dominate global security.

Speaking about this latest accolade, Keith Bloodworth – CEO at CNL – told info4security: “CNL is honoured to receive this prestigious award from Frost and Sullivan, an organisation that’s recognised worldwide for its excellence, especially in the security market.”

Bloodworth continued: “As the innovator of truly open solutions that have helped advance Control Room management, we are delighted to receive this recognition and believe it’s a credit to the talent, passion and creativity found within the company. The fast-emerging integrated situation management market is normally overlooked or not understood by industry analysts. Therefore, it’s even more exciting to be recognised by Frost and Sullivan.”

Integrated situation management’s status

In conclusion, Bloodworth commented: “Possibly of as much significance is the elevation of integrated situation management by Frost & Sullivan to a level it deserves. In the last 20 years, we have seen little progress in Control Room management, but now these products are blazing a new trail in small, but highly innovative companies. What separates the latest products, like IPSecurityCenter, from the norm is that they’re not biased towards any single manufacturer.”

This award comes at an exciting time for CNL, as the company is beginning to witness a significant shift in the market place, where more and more manufactures are starting to understand the importance of interoperability.

Adlan Hussain – CNL’s marketing manager – told SMT Online: “Customers are demanding solutions which give them exactly what they want. Where in the past Security Departments were satisfied with the proprietary systems in the market, we are finding that as security migrates to the network and IT Departments get involved, they’re now questioning the validity of these proprietary systems.”

Hussan went on to say: “When security clients say they would like to keep their existing systems and want them to interconnect to each other in a fully managed and compliant way, we offer them an open, IP-based alternative that their IT Departments can relate to.”

Overcoming existing security challenges

In his citation, Archana Rao – an analyst at Frost and Sullivan – explained: “The 2009 European Situation Management Software Industry Innovation and Advancement of the Year Award is presented to CNL for its superior innovation, technological advancement and business performance. The award recognises the company’s development and commercialisation of its flagship product, IPSecurityCenter, the only integrated security management solution to deliver the risk management, security control and co-ordinated response required to overcome existing security challenges.”

Rao added: “CNL has developed a powerful technological capability, has a keen pulse on the consumer needs and strong R&D expertise that has been successful in moving the state of the industry forward. Together, these factors make CNL the worthy recipient of this year’s award.”
