FAAC S700 hybrid swing gate operator installed at Windsor property

Eagle Automation Systems specified the S700 due to its continuous duty and high speed capabilities.

Eagle was commissioned to replace the customer’s existing manual wooden swing gates with new bi-folding automated gates. The S700-powered, bi-folding gates boast an opening/closing speed of just 10 seconds.

David Ashby, managing director of Eagle Automation Systems, said: “Speed of operation was a key consideration in this installation to prevent vehicles entering the property from blocking the small residential lane.

“The S700 not only provides the necessary speed, but its hydraulic pump makes it capable of continuous operation.”

Energy efficient
The S700 underground swing gate operator combines hydraulic technology with an energy efficient 24 volt motor, designed to offer end users substantial power savings when compared to conventional 230V hydraulic operators, FAAC says.

Designed to operate with a gate leaf of up to 4 metres and weight up to 800kg, the S700 is available in four versions to open to 100 deg or 180 deg with or without hydraulic locking.

Just two bolts are required to secure the operator into its foundation box and internal adjustable stops make setting final open and closed positions simple.

A built-in encoder system allows the control board to monitor the position of the gate and, if an obstacle is encountered, the gate stops and fully reverses in compliance with current safety standards.
