MSX International is a leader in the field of design research for the motor vehicle industry. Headquartered in Basildon, the company’s six-acre site takes in offices, workshops, design studios and support areas.
Sensitive design details and commercial information are held on site by around 300 members of staff, so strict security is a ‘must’. The basic CCTV installation, designed and installed by Link CCTV, is bolstered by sliding gate operators and perimeter protection barriers supplied by FAAC (UK).
Working in unison with City Gate Automation of Shepperton, FAAC recognised that the barriers and gates would be opening and closing 500 or more times each day, thus the company opted to use its 640 Series barriers alongside the 844 operators for sliding gates.
Designed for intensive use, the 844 is suitable for gates with a maximum length of 19 m and weights of 1800 kg and features power failure override and automatic locking. The electro-hydraulic 640 barriers are designed for heavy traffic management in large commercial applications, and are ideal for beam lengths ranging from 4-7 m.
