Fire service to sell adverts on fire engines and stations
Fire engines in South Yorkshire may soon be carrying advertisements after the local fire authority approved the scheme.
The initiative will see adverts placed on the sides and backs of fire engines, similar to posters on the side of buses.
In addition to fire engines, firms will also be able to sponsor fire stations, home safety checks, or open days as well as advertise on the fire service’s website.
Beverley Sandy, director of finance and resources at South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service, told The Star: “We feel this is a great opportunity for businesses across South Yorkshire to be associated with an established, very well-respected brand.
“Every single day our vehicles and premises are seen by thousands of people. Our firefighters and community safety teams engage with hundreds more.”
