Get your apprentices trained

The South East Security Co-operative is now offering security companies a limited number of places which will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.
Says SESCO: "The summer months are an ideal time to start your recruitment process as the school and college exams are over and most students will have a reasonably accurate idea of their expected results. A prospective employer, looking to participate in the scheme will have a larger choice of candidates which will allow for the suitable apprentice to be chosen." The Modern Apprenticeship provides students with the knowledge to sit the SITO/City & Guilds 1851 Electronic Principle/Intruder Alarms and CCTV examinations and achieve an NVQ Level 3. Exams are incorporated with competence in the workplace and the gathering evidence of work carried out in their portfolio. The portfolio is as significant to the course as the examinations and will be inspected regularly by the college tutor.
SESCO says that when companies are making a final shortlist for candidates, the content of the course should be considered to ensure that the most capable apprentice is chosen. All candidates must be security screened and offered employment prior to starting the course.
