Gyyr’s got it taped at Heathrow

The building is used by couriers for the delivery and collection of packages going to and coming from aircraft stationed at one of the airport’s three central terminals.
The installation, designed by Maidenhead-based ART Security Solutions, includes access control systems, dome cameras, video device controllers, multiplexers, VCRs and digital video badging equipment. With hundreds of packages being processed each day, and many of them urgent, collection points have to be readily accessible to couriers. At the same time, the more sensitive areas of the building must be restricted to authorised personnel.
At the heart of the access control system is AXxess 202 software that controls security management, and includes an integrated photo ID system. Gyyr’s Vortex dome cameras provide the CCTV images for internal areas – and are also used for surveillance of people and locating misplaced packages.
