Honeywell intruder alarm panels, DVR and NVRs integrated with Initsys control room software
The move should allow integrators and end users looking for remotely monitored solutions to combine their intruder alarms with new or existing CCTV networks without the need to replace existing systems.
The addition of CCTV imagery to the central monitoring system should also help monitoring specialists distinguish false alarms from events requiring attention, “thus enabling a faster and more effective response to security breaches,” Honeywell said.
Making the right connections
Honeywell’s latest digital video recorder and network video recorder ranges, including the Fusion IV, HRDP and Rapid Eye series, and RapidEye with Active Alert video analytics, have also been enabled to work with Initsys Merlin 3 software.
The software is able to automatically operate a camera’s pan tilt and zoom functions to focus on the source of the disturbance. All captured images can then be viewed alongside live real time video at a control centre. The software also provides web-based access, letting authorised users view live video footage of alarms events from remote locations and provide immediate input into how best to handle the situation.
Remote monitoring package is ‘strengthened’
Jeremy Kimber, EMEA strategy and channel marketing director, Honeywell Security Group, said: “The integration of Honeywell Galaxy Dimension, Fusion, HRDP and RapidEye DVRs and NVRs with the Initsys Merlin 3 control room software further strengthens Honeywell’s commercial security offering for medium and large scale organisations desiring remote monitoring and underpins our position as a leading provider of security products for integrated security solutions.
“The combination of Honeywell’s intruder alarm panels and DVR/NVR ranges provides end users with a truly comprehensive security offering, while the ability to link to the advanced control room capabilities provided by Merlin 3 further ensures that security incidents will be efficiently dealt with wherever and whenever they occur.”
