The final of the IFSEC Future of Security Competition 2011 will take place on Tuesday May 17 from 2pm.
This newly launched annual competition aims to find the next generation of security innovations.
The aim is to challenge the brightest minds in security technology from around the world to submit radically new ideas and game-changing technologies.
The competition aims to uncover the creative capabilities of innovators in universities and small to medium sized enterprises that apply to security needs.

The IFSEC Security Industry Awards 2011 celebrate security innovations over the last 12 months. 2020 TuchControl by 2020 Imaging Ltd has been nominated as a finalist in the Integrated Security Product of the Year category.
The awards ceremony will take place on the evening of Monday 16 May 2011 at the Hilton Birmingham Metropole. See this article for details of the categories and the finalists in each category.
Totally new concept
2020 Imaging says: “2020 TuchControl is a totally new concept in integrated command and control. Our radically different multi-touch screen interface can be implemented on both large and small display systems.
“Available sensor data, including output from video content analytics, is married with geographical information using 3D maps and GPS location data to accurately plot all assets, alarms, sensor readings and mobile resources.
“Live video feeds can be superimposed onto 3D maps and models with the camera space and virtual (3D) space treated as one. This provides a holistic view to the operator in a control room enabling effective real-time action and response.”
Nigel Barrington, chief executive of 2020 Imaging Ltd, said: “Since the first introduction of 2020 TuchControl at IFSEC 2010 we have demonstrated and marketed the system in a number of countries. We have received a huge amount of interest from a variety of sectors.
“In October 2010 we were finalists at the Security Excellence Awards and we are truly honoured to have been selected as finalists in two more contests. We believe that we have created a radically different ground breaking product and it seems that others agree.”
