IFSEC 2011 Security Industry Awards open for entries

The awards acknowledge the people, products and technological advancements that have played a major part in the security industry over the past year.

Taking place at a black-tie gala dinner in the Hilton Birmingham Metropole on Monday 16 May, entries to the awards must be submitted by Tuesday 8 March 2011.

Awards will be handed out to the following categories which have evolved to reflect the changing landscape of the international security industry:

Product categories (open exclusively to exhibitors participating in IFSEC 2011)

– CCTV Camera Equipment of the Year

– CCTV System of the Year

– Intruder Alarm or Exterior Deterrent Product of the Year

– Physical Security Product of the Year

– Access Control Product of the Year (including biometrics)

– Communication Product of the Year

– Integrated Security Product of the Year

Non-product categories (open to both exhibitors and non-exhibitors)

– Security Project or Security Installation of the Year

– Guarding Service Delivery to Customer

– Best Policing Partnership of the Year

James Kelly, chief executive of the BSIA, said: “The IFSEC Security Industry Awards are a fantastic opportunity to recognise the most significant contributions and developments within the industry over the past 12 months.

“These awards not only create a showcase for the year’s finest innovations in security products and services, but they also provide an opportunity for the industry to come together to acknowledge its progression and achievements.

“The BSIA is committed to promoting excellence and acknowledges the need to drive the industry forward, and what better way than through celebrating its success.”

Running in conjunction with the IFSEC 2011 exhibition, the Awards promise to be the key social event in the security industry calendar this year.
