Kelloggs takes the contract route

The move follows a long tradition where security at the plant was managed by an in-house team of Kelloggs personnel.
A spokesperson for Reliance said the in-house team had been re-deployed, allowing Reliance personnel to provide professional guarding services.
A team headed by Reliance site manager Fred Howell will handle the contract over three years.
The contract, won under a tender process handled by Kelloggs security manager Thomas Hilton, will be managed by Reliance’s Manchester office.
Reliance’s general manager Peter Morel said: "Reliance has a long history of successful relationships with blue chip companies such as Kelloggs, which is a direct reflection of our belief in using a partnership approach with our customers. We are looking forward to providing Kelloggs with the benefits of that experience." Reliance is now in the process of unrolling a ‘Security Awareness’ campaign to educate Kelloggs employees on issues such as domestic crime, car crime and overall awareness of security issues in the workplace.
