‘Secure by default’ in the age of converged security

Log-in cabins

The redevelopment, which increases the original build by more than 60%, has up to 400 construction contractors on the 60,000 m2 site at any given time, and permanently accommodates eight temporary cabins. The challenge for security installers, Skanska and Flexib El, was to provide a fully integrated security solution that would ensure efficient monitoring of the workers and cabins. Because of its flexibility, the most appropriate solution was deemed to be the Bewator Entro access control system.

On this project, the system accommodates wireless communication between the portacabin sub-centres to the connected card readers. All of the cabins and the site office are equipped with two card readers, one for entry and one for exit. With the product’s open software interface, BAPSI, integration into third-party systems, such as member software registration packages, is also possible.

In order to monitor who is at the workplace, Skanska chose to use this Windows-based software with Entro’s screen event log function, which enables the site manager to check on attendance and obtain lists of those who are at work at any given time.

Software consultant RSoft developed the time registration software, which has been integrated with Entro’s BAPSI communication protocol, enabling the transfer of each entry and exit to the time registration system.
