Man charged over Kilkcaldy factory fire
A 32-year-old local man has been charged in connection with a fire in Kirkcaldy, Fife.
The blaze at Production Glassfibre factory last month left the building devastated and took around 35 firefighters to extinguish.
Fire crews spent around five hours getting the blaze under control, following an emergency call around 4pm on 15 December.
The building was empty at the time, and nobody was hurt.
Fire safety investigators urged nearby residents to close windows and stay indoors in case of harmful chemicals. Production Glassfibre produces moulded parts for housebuilding, car manufacturing and the retail industry.
The man, who was an employee at the factory, has been charged with culpable and reckless conduct. A court date is yet to be set.
