Metropolitan Police Service uses RedWeb trackers to catch thieves
In one operation, a Vespa was left in South West London as bait to catch a well-known bike thief. The bike had a Redweb device attached to it, so when the Vespa was duly stolen, police were able to track it, tracing it first to the thief’s house and then onto the address of a stolen goods handler.
Damien Ash, a detective sergeant with the Metropolitan Police, told info4security: “The accuracy of the tracker was spot on – it even showed the bike in the right place within the garden on the satellite image.”
Equipment developed by RedWeb Security is used by 30 police services around the UK.
