Minimax and Viking to create 1bn euro fire group
German based fire solutions company Minimax and US extinguishing systems manufacturer Viking Group have announced a merger deal, which will create an international company with a turnover of more than 1bn euros.
The combined company, employing 6000 people around the world, aims to adopt an integrated business model with complementary product and service offerings.
Klaus Hofmann, CEO of Minimax said: “This combination will create a real global player with strong product, service and distribution skills based on Minimax’s focus on installation and service and sophisticated non-water products, and Viking Group’s focus on production and distribution of high quality water sprinklers and sprinkler systems. With the expanded capabilities of both firms, the combined company will be better positioned to take advantage of the opportunities not only in its existing markets, but also across the globe.”
Klaus Hoffman will remain CEO of the combined company, while Tom Groos, CEO of Viking Group, will become chairman of the advisory board.
The proposed transaction is expected to be completed by the end of the year, subject to regulatory approval.
