Whitepaper: Enhancing security, resilience and efficiency across a range of industries

Norbain partners with Intransa to support IP market

Intransa delivers server, storage and application platforms on top of a wide range of industry-leading services. The conpany’s groundbreaking technology lowers cost and eliminates the complexity and ongoing support challenges of integrating commodity servers and storage, while at the same time slashing energy consumption and increasing reliability.

The partnership with security solutions giant Norbain will extend the reach of Intransa’s open platform server, storage and appliances to the European market.

Intransa’s video-optimised platforms are built for the unique demands of video security and fully integrated with its security-oriented services portfolio for affordable and simplified local installations as well as for use in advanced cloud deployments.

“Our European expansion is in direct response to the accelerated demand for open, IP-based security products around the globe,” said Bud Broomhead, CEO at Intransa.

“The security industry is changing quickly due to the flexibility of IP, and customers are increasingly looking to companies that have easy-to-use, reliable platforms. Our flexible products enable customers to install security platforms that are scalable and competitively priced.”

HD video optimised servers and storage

Suitable for individual deployments or as a scalable, cloud-based infrastructure, Intransa platforms deliver high definition (HD) video optimised servers and storage.

Intransa’s platforms are designed to be affordable for single project security deployments with just a small number of IP cameras and a few days of recording, yet can scale cost-efficiently and easily to meet the big data needs of projects with hundreds or even thousands of cameras and months to years of video recording capacity.

“Intransa has a strong track record of delivering video optimised server and storage platforms for the IP video surveillance market,” explained Andrew Pigram, technical director at Norbain. “The company’s server, storage and appliance platforms will allow us to capture new market opportunities. Launching its IP product portfolio into Europe is a key part of that strategy.”

Intransa platforms include the GroundCrew Phone-Home Warranty and companion Intransa CoPilot 24-Hour Customer Support, plus optional Intransa Pilot Proactive Monitoring.

Complete infrastructure solution for customers

Intransa’s award-winning products and services offer a complete infrastructure solution to meet a wide range of security needs, with a wide range of certified VMS, access control and video analytics applications sourced from the security world’s leading software vendors.

With annual revenues in excess of GB pound 100 million and growing, Norbain SD is one of Europe’s most successful distributors of CCTV, IP video, access control and intruder detection equipment.

Headquartered in Reading, Berkshire, the company employs over 250 people throughout the UK in various sales offices and at its distribution centre in Manchester.

Each year, the company’s international sales operation sells into 77 countries across five continents.
