In this new role, Green will use his wealth of experience in public safety and knowledge of public/private sector partnerships to assist Octavian’s operations team.
In addition, his strategic management skills will be used to their fullest effect by working alongside Octavian’s top management team to help shape the future direction of the business.
Green joins Octavian just weeks after the business was named the 27th fastest-growing, privately-owned organisation in the UK by The Sunday Times Virgin Fast Track 100 League Table.
Joining such a high-performing business will be in keeping with the portfolio of a man who’s credited with modernising Nottinghamshire Police and reducing crime in the county to its lowest levels in 20 years.
Mentoring for the management team
“Steve will bring many things to our team, primarily by being a mentor to the management and offering strategic guidance and consultancy on special projects,” explained Mick Burrows, Octavian’s operations director and himself an ex-chief superintendent of Nottinghamshire Police.
“It’s fitting that a man who was charged with the protection of a core city and county is now helping us by assisting our team when undertaking this role for our blue chip client base.”
Green – who also headed up Roads Policing for the Association of Chief Police Officers as chairman of its East Midlands region – was a leading figure in fostering collaboration between police forces.
