These are Derbyshire, Leicestershire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire and Northamptonshire.
The contract award follows an extensive period of evaluation and testing by Derbyshire Constabulary of fixed site ANPR equipment.
Matthew Rudder, the ANPR procurement lead for Derbyshire Constabulary said: “The field tests used during the evaluation process revealed that the proposed equipment successfully captured 96 per cent of all number plates accurately.”
Under this latest contract PIPS will supply its P372 Spike cameras, or the new P382 SpikeHD camera, coupled with PIPS Portal software.
Spike incorporates single or dual ANPR and scene image capture, with an integrated ANPR processor in a single unit.
PIPS says: “SpikeHD has been designed for use in the highest performance applications where it is necessary to provide the ANPR function across a full 4m carriageway. Just like the Spike camera SpikeHD is a fully integrated ANPR camera.”
