Raytec’s winter webinar programme available for download
The lighting webinar programme consisted of three topics debated and discussed over six separate educational sessions, and was designed very much as part of Raytec’s ongoing mission to educate all security professionals on the subject – and importance – of lighting.
With new opportunities in white light, the importance of lighting to reduce bandwidth and storage from IP cameras and the possibilities offered with Raytec’s new Lighting Design Service, it’s important that Raytec’s partners are kept up-to-date with new opportunities in lighting.
The seminar series attracted more than 500 installers, consultants and end users, bringing together security professionals from all over the world to share their knowledge and ideas.
Held online with both am and pm sessions to cater for partner companies in America, Europe and Asia, attendees watched a training presentation in real time via their PCs while listening to Raytec experts live via their telephone.
Step-by-step insight from the experts
Raytec’s lighting experts provided a step-by-step insight into all the salient topics, at the same time offering practical specification and installation advice.
Each seminar also allowed for an interactive Q&A session such that attendees could pose questions to the Raytec experts live over the Internet.
Raytec launched its inaugural webinar programme – then an industry ‘first’ – two years ago. With vast global participation, the webinars have now grown in popularity. This latest series has been the most widely attended to date, with attendees from as far as California and Singapore.
“Our webinars are unique in the industry and give clear, practical advice on key lighting topics,” explained David Lambert, Raytec’s sales and marketing director.
“Given the fast pace of technological advances being made in LED lighting, our partners can rely on Raytec to keep them fully updated with all the latest developments, opportunities and Best Practice in CCTV lighting.”
Raytec will be holding further webinar sessions during 2011.
As stated, the latest webinar sessions may be downloaded from the Resource Centre of Raytec’s website (a dedicated link is provided on the right hand panel of this page). They include:
- Lighting for IP and Megapixel Cameras
- New Opportunities with White Light
- Raytec’s Lighting Design Service
Raytec designs IR for the Pelco Esprit
Raytec has also launched RayMax ESP, a range of illuminators purpose-designed to work in conjunction with Pelco’s Esprit, one of the world’s leading camera positioning systems.
Allowing the Esprit to realise high quality night-time images in total darkness, the RayMax ESP units have been approved by Pelco, who engineered a specific version of Esprit to house the new illuminators (specific IR Lighting SMR model # 1-1GA103).
RayMax ESP units are powered directly from the Esprit through the slip ring and fitted to the Esprit with a purpose-designed bracket, allowing for continuous 360 degrees rotation and delivering illumination “perfectly matched” to the camera’s field of view.
The RayMax ESP units enhance the performance of the Pelco Esprit, providing “excellent night-time images” in the most challenging environments up to a distance of 100 metres when two illuminators are used, one positioned either side of the camera.
Colour matched to Esprit, the Raymax ESP range features an integrated photocell for automatic operation and full 24-hour surveillance, as well as Command and Control technology for user defined set-up. This provides power adjust and photocell adjust capability.
All RayMax ESP illuminators provide “long life, low running costs and ultra- low maintenance”.
“World-leading night-time images”
Shaun Cutler, Raytec’s managing director, commented: “Both Raytec and Pelco are leaders in their respective fields, and the new night-vision solution integrating RayMax ESP with the Pelco Esprit delivers world-leading night-time images from a camera positioning system.”
He added: “Our solution offers all the benefits of integrated lighting: continuous rotation and lighting targeted where it’s required, but also avoids the problems associated with building the IR into the camera housing itself such as glare, internal reflection and difficulties with thermal management.”
When used together, the Esprit and RayMax ESP illuminators are said to “provide the perfect solution” for night-time surveillance.
