Regency Guarding awarded Approved Contractor status by the Regulator

Demonstrating its fullest commitment to the highest standards, Regency Security’s guarding division, Regency Guarding, has been awarded Approved Contractor status by the Security Industry Authority.

For many, of course, the Approved Contractor Scheme (ACS) is regarded as the ultimate seal of approval within the security industry.

The accreditation follows an extensive independent assessment of the company’s performance, including its dedication to customer service and the quality of its employment practices.

Not content to stop there, Regency Guarding has also achieved the ISO 9001 quality management system and British Standards BS 7499 and BS 7894.

Recent addition to the Regency Group of companies

Regency Guarding is the most recent addition to the Regency Group. It joins two of the most recognised names within the industry, Regency Security and Regency Training (established in 1993 and 1996 respectively).

From the start, Regency has worked hard to attain the most prestigious awards and accreditations available and, in many cases, has been among the first to do so. This includes the attainment of British Standards BS 7960 and BS 7858, the aforementioned ISO 9001 quality management system and Community Safety Accreditation Scheme recognition.

Although participation in the ACS scheme is voluntary, Regency Guarding views it as an essential element of the business.

Raising standards within the sector

John Pearce, Regency Guarding’s business manager, explained: “Regency has always been at the forefront of initiatives designed to raise standards within the security industry, so there was no question as to our involvement with the ACS.”

Pearce went on to state: “Being recognised as the benchmark for all security providers, the ACS accreditation will give us an even better working relationship with the authorities and businesses and, in turn, means that our clients will receive greater piece of mind and the assurance that they have chosen the best provider possible.”

He continued: “The assessments were rigorous, and even included monthly mystery shopper, client and staff audits and interviews with Regency’s clients and guarding staff to ensure that we really do follow Best Practice and have effective customer-focused procedures.”

For Pearce, Regency Guarding’s ACS accreditation means that its customers can rest assured that they are working with “one of the best security providers” in the industry.

Gary Powers, the managing director of the Regency Group, is delighted with the outcome.

“It means that we can now supply our clients with a complete range of approved security services and cater for every need – from guarding to key holding and alarm response, mobile patrols, event stewarding, door supervision and security training.”

Powers concluded: “Regency Guarding already has a strong client base, but this will help us to grow the business, create jobs locally and nationally, and excel in client care within the guarding industry.”
