The SecureLinx Branch Office Solution Kit (SLB) from Lantronix lets system administrators securely manage servers and IT infrastructure equipment from anywhere on the internet.
Designers say the product is an affordable solution to some of the problems posed by branch office environments like minimal onsite technical expertise, limited space for equipment and a lack of power.
They claim that while remote network management solutions are available to provide staff with round-the-clock access to information and applications, most are high-cost, high-port count appliances designed for the enterprise data centre.
“As businesses expand and their IT assets are increasingly distributed across states, countries or continents, there is a growing need for affordable and flexible remote management equipment that drives the seamless transition from corporate IT to the branch office,” said Reagan Sakai, interim CEO and CFO of Lantronix.
The SLB is an integrated remote management solution designed specifically for geographically distributed IT environments. It is said to combine the features of Lantronix’s award-winning SecureLinx SLC console server with a remote power manager and a built-in Ethernet switch.
