Securi-Guard looks to help the Heroes

The Plymouth-based firm is among several businesses in the city supporting the Help for Heroes Charity at a black tie dinner to be held this coming Saturday (9 May) at the Moat House Hotel.

Help for Heroes is particularly close to the heart of ex-commando Neil and the rest of the Securi-Guard staff, as many of its employees are former services personnel.

Dinner will be followed by an auction to raise funds for the charity and, in particular, the Headley Court Rehabilitation Unit where servicemen and women injured in combat are supported on their road to recovery.

Music on the night will be performed by the Band of the Rifles Regiment quintet, and there’s going to be a DJ and disco later in the evening.

Securi-Guard in full support

Randall attended last year’s Help for Heroes fundraiser held at the Holiday Inn and, when he mentioned this year’s event to Securi-Guard’s managing director Scott Boyd, his boss duly decided to book a table for ten. Clients attending include Infoteam, Interserve and Derriford Hospital.

“I have been in regular touch with the charity’s co-ordinator, and when I told Scott about it he wanted to show the company’s support by hosting a table,” Randall told SMT Online. “There was a time when around 90% of Securi-Guard’s staff were ex-services and, although the figure’s not as high as that now, we still have a fair number of people who are former army, navy or air force personnel in our ranks.”

Neil added: “This is a charity that we as are very keen to support as much as we can, and we’re delighted some of our clients can join us on the night to help us do that.”

Taking part in Buddy Box

In his role at Securi-Guard, Randall is no stranger to fundraising for the services. Recently, he organised staff to take part in the Buddy Box scheme, which sent supplies and gifts to marines currently serving in Afghanistan.

Please do all you can to support Help for Heroes. The Security Institute is a firm backer of this fantastic charity, so too SMT Online and info4security. A dedicated web link is provided on the right hand panel of this page.
