Skills accredits Key Holding and Alarm Response training

This two-day course offered by Security Industry Authority (SIA) Approved Contractor A1 Training (and recently accredited by Skills for Security) ensures that all key holding and alarm response staff complete 16 hours of formal classroom training, as required by the BS 7984 standard.

This course also meets the audit conditions for those wishing to update their skills and remain Approved Contractor Scheme compliant.

The course covers four modules, including procedures, guidelines and reporting, communication skills and conflict management, dealing with incidents and alarm systems and access control.

Multiple choice examinations for assessment

Assessment is made by way of a multiple choice examination at the end of the course. The two-day format means that employees are not out of the office for long periods, or having to complete long term study.

The entry requirement for this course is that the individuals involved must hold an SIA security licence and be working – or expecting to work – in the key holding or alarm response sector.

The next course is being held on 1-2 October at the Sorensen Centre in Security House, Worcester. Delegate costs are GB pound 229.00 plus vat for subscribers and GB pound 269.00 plus vat for non-subscribers. Further courses are to be planned throughout the year in both Worcester and Luton.
