Smoke generator turns burglaries into mist opportunities

Gridlock is used in combination with Sonitrol’s audio detection system, which uses sound to detect intruders via strategically positioned microphones within a building, whilst complementing an existing alarm system. A dense vapour of non-toxic Polyglycol is produced in seconds, preventing intruders from continuing.
Inspector Kevin Mann, from the Communications Branch of the Metropolitan Police (pictured with Sonitrol’s General Manager, Andrew Ward), believes in the effectiveness of smoke-generating systems: “They not only alert the neighbourhood that a burglary is taking place, they also make it very difficult for the burglar to continue. Machine-generated smoke provides a very effective security barrier in the time between the alarm being activated and the police responding.”

* Sonitrol’s 2001 company calendar features ‘Infamous Last Words’ from some of the many criminals that have been caught out by the company’s audio detection system. For example, this cocky comment … “This job’s gonna be even easier than last week’s” uttered just before police burst in and arrested them!
