SMT announced as official media partner for retail security and RFID conferences

Retail Loss Prevention Europe 2005 runs from 2-3 November at The Royal Garden Hotel, High Street, Kensington. It aims to offer security managers and loss prevention specialists all of the latest opinions on how they can minimise stock losses and maximise profits across their entire retail operation. Senior executives from major retailers including Boots, the Dixons Group, B&Q, Tesco and IKEA will be offering case studies and advice on internal and external security issues.

Confirmed speakers include Bill Briggs (head of security at the Dixons Group), Ian Carter (senior stock loss manager for B&Q) and Lyn Blethyn, group loss prevention manager at the Tussauds Group.

Copies of the full conference brochure can be downloaded from: www.eyeforretail.com/ lossprevention, where you may also register to attend the event at a discounted rate. Alternatively, telephone 0207 375 7160 for further details.

In addition, SMT is supporting a major event at The RFID Technology Centre in Bracknell on 1 December. Entitled Improving Security and Asset Tracking with Wireless Solutions in Buildings and Premises, the event will explore how the implementation of wireless technologies (in particular RFID and ZigBee, but also smart cards, biometrics, WIMAX, WIFI, GPRS, 3G and GPS, etc) can be applied on site to improve asset tracking and management, access control, employee ID and general security.

In essence, this will be a management solutions-based event using case studies to illustrate the benefits to end users of implementing wireless applications, and will include a tour of The RFID Technology Centre.
