The ASIS Young Professionals Group holds as part of its Mission Statement the desire to develop and educate young careerists in the security profession.
The group is established upon high standards for members, ethical conduct, quality offerings and a progressive programme for the development of young professionals.
The goal is to create a comfortable environment for this segment of up-and-coming members and future leaders.
Some of the priorities this year will be to create an engaging learning environment at the international and local chapter levels, appointing Chapter young professional liaisons, developing forums for communication throughout the ASIS organisation and encouraging mentorship opportunities.
The definition of a young professional would typically include someone who is less than 40 years of age or who has less than five years’ operational experience in the security profession, but participation is encouraged from all those passionate about this initiative regardless of their age or experience.
Vast experience brought to the role
David St John-Claire boasts vast experience in strategy development and implementation, project management, market and budget planning, sales and commercial management, key account management, international team management, innovative solutions development and implementation, PR and media communications and change management.
In the past he as served as a business development director at Interserve and as a general manager for the UK (north) and Ireland with Johnson Controls.
St John-Claire has also worked at Novar, Synergy Risk Control and Consulting, as a consultant with ADT Fire and Security and as business development operations manager at APCOA.
