Whitepaper: Enhancing security, resilience and efficiency across a range of industries

The classic sign of the Relcross

When Leeds City Council decided to upgrade existing security in the Lincoln Green area of the city to allow remote access control, the Council’s security team turned to specialist systems provider Relcross.

The end result? The DDS Toplock 4 access control system has been specified and installed, along with Amadeus 3 software. This allows remote sites (no less than 14 high and low-rise housing blocks) to be connected to the main computer via a network of ports and modems.

The host computer (or central monitoring system) is based at the Lincoln Green Housing Office, allowing the Council’s Housing Department to keep detailed records of access authorisation for each of the 612 tenants.

Each tenant has been issued with a fob which is pre-programmed to allow admission to their own particular block only.

Details of any changes to the system – including the deletion of a given fob – can simply be downloaded to each remote site from the host computer via dial-up modem link.
