Three-in-one panel for roof trusses and joists

[

Envirograf has created a panel offering thermal insulation, acoustic values and fire protection. The Envir-e-flex has been described as a three-in-one solution, comprising a reflective fire protective panel with an attached sponge for thermal and acoustic protection.

The panels are designed to be used in loft conversions to protect between trusses and joists, or between floors in new buildings, with only 9mm of facing plasterboard needed to obtain one hour fire protection.

One of the big issues the panels attempt to address is reducing heat leakage and therefore the carbon footprint of a building. Envirograf says thermal improvements in properties have often resulted in excessive insulation being positioned too close to electric cables and therefore running the the risk of a cable overheating and potentially causing a fire. Envir-e-flex is produced in a variety of depths to suit most joists and trusses, while offering an important airflow for cabling and minimising condensation problems.
