Top MoD expert joins Arup

Arup Security Consulting – recently voted Best Security Consultant at the 2002 Security Excellence Awards (see ‘For Your Eyes Only’, pp24-28) – has further expanded its already diverse team of experts with the appointment of Major General Christopher Elliott as a security strategist.
Formerly a director general at the Ministry of Defence working with both the UN and NATO, Elliott will provide advice on the terrorist threat and the design of counter-terrorism measures. He will also be carrying out vulnerability surveys of security professionals’ existing buildings and sites to assess their resilience to potential attack.
Elliott brings a distinguished academic background to his new role, having studied as a Defence Fellow at Southampton University’s Department of Civil Engineering (which then led to a Master’s degree at Cranfield University).
