Trafford Guardsafe runs “pioneering training” with JobCentre Plus
After months of negotiations, the organisers of Trafford Guardsafe (the security officer training and licensing scheme being operated in the Trafford Borough of Greater Manchester) have run the first training course in conjunction with JobCentre Plus and Standguide – its training partner in the north west.
The course targets local individuals who’ve been unemployed for at least 12 months. Lasting four weeks, it encompasses a training development programme aimed at honing the interpersonal skills required to find a job in the manned security sector.
In weeks two and four the training is targeted at occupational skills for static and patrol guarding, with the Guardsafe course being run by the Greater Manchester Police and security services contractor Noble Security.
Participants also attain certificates in fire safety, first aid and Health and Safety, while taking in a work placement in week three.
