Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR)
Tyco Integrated Systems has been successful in winning another major CCTV order from Transport for London. The new contract is for the supply, installation and commissioning of a further 200 CCTV cameras and ancillary equipment for monitoring road traffic as part of a significant expansion of London’s security and traffic management facilities.
The majority of the cameras are being used for bus lane monitoring and enforcement right across central London, the remainder for surveillance. Additionally, nine camera sites complete with Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR) facilities have been installed to expand the automatic journey time monitoring system.
On this contract, Tyco is responsible for providing the complete surveillance set-up.
