Unscrambling Cardiff!

The event will be held at the Cardiff Moat House Hotel on the morning of Thursday January 31 when a panel of experts including Kevin Mann, Secretary of ACPO, and Alex Carmichael, Deputy Technical Manager of the BSIA, will address installers on the changes that have taken place since the policy was rolled out throughout the country in October.
There will also be a chance for installers to ask questions of the panel which will also include a local installer, Chris Bridgwood, Head of Sales, BT RedCARE, and Alan Hyder, Editor of Security Installer.
Meanwhile, the draft Scottish Police Security Systems Policy has now been published and is available for comment. The BSIA expects the policy will be implemented in 2002.
This is the first security systems policy in Scotland and there are significant differences between this and the England, Wales and Northern Ireland policy. There is no mandatory requirement for confirmation technology in newly installed systems. Confirmation technology is being required only to restore response. There is also a higher allowance for false alarms before police response is lowered or withdrawn.
