Vista launches intelligent Protos CCTV cameras

According to an official statement, the new cameras “offer all the industry recognised features” seen in the current Protos range alongside a host of additional benefits.

These include comprehensive on-board video analytics, 650 TVL colour resolution and Digital Wide Dynamic Range (D-WDR) to provide “excellent image quality” even in high contrast environments.

Video analytics provide sensitive yet accurate alarms and on-screen display warnings. Usually achieved by using specific analytical software, the VPC5-650DN and VPC5-654DN have this capability integrated within the camera and can provide comprehensive video analytics as standard.

This includes video motion detection, motion trace, face detection, minefield, cross (automated counting across specified lines), entrance, scene change and museum mode.

Integral on-screen menu facility

Representing “exceptional value for money” and incorporating many high-end features, the Vista Protos VPC5-650DN and VPC5-654DN feature an integral on-screen menu (OSD) facility providing access to programming functions such as: D-WDR, 2D and 3D-DNR as well as PWI (Peak White Inversion) to ensure the best possible images can be achieved.

For installations where privacy is a high priority (such as at Chip and PIN machines), up to 15 privacy zones can be programmed to ensure sensitive on-screen information remains private.

“The combination of high-resolution images and powerful video analytics make the Vista Protos VPC5-650DN and VPC5-654DN perfect for all priority surveillance applications” explained Mark Pritchard, Vista’s divisional director.

“With simple and intuitive set-up, the easy-to-use on screen display and analytic controls can be accessed local to the camera or remotely via RS485 telemetry. This provides the ultimate performance and flexibility for installers and end users.”
