Video: Blokade, the Toblerone-Shaped Anti-Vehicle Device for Perimeter Security

Kijlstra launched Blokade, an anti-terror device for use in perimeter security, just a few months before IFSEC 2016.

Adding an extra layer of security inside perimeter fences the pyramidal shapes safeguard against intrusion by any kind of vehicle. Each 5.2 tonne unit of four 1-metre square pyramids comprise interlocking connectors that just slot into place.

In the video below, filmed at IFSEC 2016, Billy Fairhurst, UK sales manager for the company, gives the lowdown on the new product, which you can also see in all its Toblerone-shaped glory on the Kijlstra stand.

Kijlstra, which has more than a century’s pedigree in the construction industry, says this innovative design makes Blokade a simpler, more secure anti-terrorist system than other similar products on the market and can be practically deployed however long a site’s perimeter.

Made from smooth, self-compacting concrete that’s resistant to freeze/thaw attack to international standard XF4, Blokade has a design life of at least 60 years.
