2013 CCTV & Video Surveillance Storage Solutions Survey Released

The first CCTV & Video Surveillance Storage Solutions Survey by IFSEC Global has been released, and it shows a fast expanding need for surveillance storage in the security industry.

CCTV & Surveillance Storage Survey

The survey was carried out between 3 June and 30 July 2013, and we spoke to IT and security professionals to find out some of the pressures around surveillance storage issues.

Key findings from the survey included the fact that 63 percent of businesses had still not even tried video surveillance storage in the cloud, however, of those that had, 70 percent have been satisfied with the results.

Meanwhile, 56 percent of businesses are looking to expand their security systems storage within the next 12 months. However, surprisingly, some are still looking to reduce their storage requirements, as the world recession continues to squeeze budgets.

We also found that 77 percent of businesses store all of their video surveillance data for at least seven days and that just 9 percent of businesses said that improving data accessibility was a priority in the next 12 months.

The 2013 CCTV & Video Surveillance Storage Solutions was produced with the support of Buffalo Technology, and is available for download from IFSEC Global.com now.

There has to be a better solution to keep security footage in storage honestly. If we have millions of surveillance tapes in hard copy, it’s no wonder that there’s a big issue with trying to keep everything!
