Hikvision Doubles Global Market Share in Just Two Years to Remain World’s Biggest Surveillance Brand
Hikvision has strengthened its hold on the top spot in the latest countdown of the world’s largest surveillance camera manufacturers by research firm IHS.
Now accounting for 16.3% of the global surveillance equipment market the Chinese giant has grown its market share by revenue by 50% year-on-year – up 5.9 percentage points – and doubled its market share in the past two years.
Hikvision, which was founded in 2001, now tops every CCTV/surveillance equipment category including the global network security camera market, leapfrogging Axis Communications with an increase from 13% to 18.9% year on year.
Ranking number two in the CCTV and video surveillance equipment category for the EMEA market (with a 9.2% share) the company has made serious inroads into overseas markets.
