Aydin Tolan, business head of visual security solutions at Sony Professional Solutions MEA has 4K technology on his mind.

With IFSEC & OSH Arabia well underway he discusses the Japanese giant’s plans for the show and why he thinks 4K will be one of the defining trends in the security industry in the coming months and years.

IFSEC Global: Why is it important for you to attend IFSEC & OSH Arabia?

Aydin Tolan: IFSEC & OSH Arabia has been an important platform to showcase the latest technology, products and solutions from Sony and Saudi Arabia is one of the top 10 fastest-growing economies in the world and the largest and most influential economy in the Middle East.

Sony ipelaIG: What technology are you showcasing on your stand?

AT: We will demonstrate our latest 4K innovations, mobile DVR, vehicle cameras, XI cameras that are ideal for wide-area surveillance and our newly launched security camera with dual light system.

IG: What benefits can end users or consultants expect to enjoy from visiting your stand? 

AT: Sony will hold live technology demonstrations. Visitors will gain an insight into how these solutions and products can benefit their business.

Sony is organising training on the second day of the event. Once of the topics to be discussed is ‘tools that will help you choose the right product and solution’. In addition we have live demonstrations on the stand highlighting the varied applications these products and solutions can be used for.

IG: Are you targeting any particular verticals right now? If so, why?

AT: Our main target are the transportation, education and healthcare sectors as we see a lot of potential for rapid expansion in these areas.

IG: What are your growth plans over the next six-12 months?

AT: We’re expecting double-digit growth over the next year.

IG: What products do you have in development? 

AT: Sony expects that 4K will become much more common in the future and its applications will be widely accepted across markets as the next resolution standard. Sony will lead this trend with the launch of 4K Security cameras.

IG: What’s the most exciting development happening in the security industry right now in your opinion?

AT: 4K technology is now the most exciting hit in the tech world, providing new opportunities for demanding security applications worldwide.

With major projects and infrastructure development taking place across the globe and our key markets especially in the Middle East, we are keen to be pioneers when it comes to the latest security solutions led by 4K technology.
