Making the effort to support NHS Heroes is the team at Comelit, with colleagues having committed to running, walking and cycling the equivalent miles from its UK Luton offices to its Italian HQ in Lorenzo di Rovetta, Italy.
Comelit’s challenge, aptly named ‘The Italian Jog”, will see members of the security and fire specialist’s team hope to raise £1,000 for NHS Charities, which is dedicated to supporting NHS staff and volunteers caring for COVID-19 patients.
Francesca Boeris, Comelit UK Managing Director, says: “When one of the team said in our briefings, “hang on a minute lads, ‘I’ve got a great idea’ I was instantly ready to support, especially for our NHS Heroes. This is a big pledge, but one to which we have committed to ensure we can make a difference to the critical work being done to protect lives at this uncertain time.”
Comelit is now looking to support workplaces scheduled to return to work, introducing touch screen access control devices with integrated IR scanner for temperature checks, and thermal camera technology to help ensure the safety of returning workers and customers.
Francesca added: “In the words of our CEO Edoardo Barzasi, we are taking the necessary measures and offering the right resources to overcome the situation. This is not only in terms of product offering, but also service requirements. As an industry, we are undoubtedly in this together and will continue to be, understanding the new normal and what is being asked of all us to protect our workers and customers.”
Comelit will be posting regularly on social media with updates on the team’s progress as it travels through virtual destinations and reaches its target. Please follow @comelit Group UK on LinkedIN.
Comelit cares for fire detection at Gleavewood Care Home
In other news from the company, Comelit’s fire detection solution has been installed at Gleavewood Care Home by KJ Fire Safety, for the ongoing safety and security of staff, residents and visitors.
Cheshire based, Gleavewood Care Home, part of the Minster Care Group, is a two storey care home, with 30 single rooms and a variety of communal areas, alongside an enclosed garden area and multiple facilities and visitor activities on site for residents to benefit.
KJ Fire Safety was called to the site following a risk assessment on fire detection systems. With recommendations made for a new install, Comelit’s Atena Easy two loop solution was fitted in just three weeks, working around the residents and staff.
Ruth Field, Estates Director of Minster Care Group, commented: “To ensure the safety of our continued staff and residents at Gleavewood, KJ Fire Safety worked by our side to install Comelit’s system as quickly as possible, whilst being sensitive to our residents and their daily routines. We are really impressed, not only with the fast paced installation, but also the finished Atena Easy control panel, which staff have been trained on, and its proven very user friendly.”
Comelit’s Atena Easy system has been installed as an addressable fire alarm, stylish panel with 2 loops, connected to 130 devices on a completely new cable scheme. The information for the system status is visualized on a graphic display and LED indication for zones and troubleshooting.
