Case study

Central London multi-tenant office receives access control upgrade from Inner Range

Inner Range has had its enterprise-level integrated access control system, Integriti, specified to provide a robust access control solution for a new multi-tenant office space in the City of London.

The client, Kajima Properties, requested a “seamless and highly efficient access system” to allow users and visitors easy access, underpinned by a robust security management system. The luxury office development has seven floors, with over 2000 users and 41 doors.

Additional requirements included the need to keep waiting times in reception areas to a minimum, good access for disabled users, and for all entry to be touchless.

NSI-approved Antron Security specified the Integriti solution from Inner Range as the solution, which is designed to provide robust security and integration to other building management systems.

Proximity cards have been presented to all tenants, with a Forge Bluepoint visitor management system available to create credentials for visitors, including on smartphones. A bespoke, touch-free IDL Fastlane turnstile entry solution has been installed in the reception area, which has been integrated with the lift system from KONE that reads user credentials from entry turnstiles and directs them to the relevant lift.

In addition to the access control system, a hard-wired IP CCTV system has been installed to monitor strategic locations. Hikvision’s ‘superior’ range has been installed throughout the site, and has been integrated with the access system to provide security operators with ‘cause and effect’ monitoring. System protocols automatically bring up specific camera feeds for security managers to view in response to alerts, and footage can be viewed holistically along with other information, such as if a door has been left open.

Jamie Crane, Commercial Director at Antron Security, said: “The flexibility of Inner Range’s Integriti access control system and Forge’s Bluepoint visitor management allowed us to incorporate high-level lift integration (known as ‘destination control’). Together, they create a future-proof solution as we can continue to meet the ever-changing requirements of the landlord and tenants via our ability to integrate with third party systems and devices such as lifts, intercoms, lighting and building management devices.”

Inner Range also highlights that its Integriti solution encrypts all communications through every device and interface, and provides intruder detection to European standard EN50131.
