"broader pool of engineers"

dormakaba UK completes acquisition of Chartwell Doors and Security Solutions Ltd

dormakaba UK has completed the acquisition Chartwell Doors and Security Solutions Ltd, which designs and manufactures automatic, security and fabrication solutions.

Commenced on 1 August 2018, the integration of the two companies was completed on 1 July 2019 and will see dormakaba UK extend its product offering and expand into new sectors.

Chartwell Doors and Security Solutions’ product range, which will now complement dormakaba UK’s existing service offering, spans automatic and manual doors, gates and barriers, bollards and roller shutters. The fabrication and service branch of dormakaba UK will be located at the Fareham site.

dormakaba is one of the world’s largest providers of access control and security solutions in the world, with 16,000 employees working across 130 countries.

“I’m really pleased with how well our businesses have interacted over this successful process and I am delighted to welcome Chartwell Doors into our service organisation,” said Paul Wright, regional service director at dormakaba UK. “This exciting news, with its clear customer-first attitude and reputation, will further strengthen us in our service delivery whilst seeing us continue with profitable growth.

“We look forward to welcoming everyone from Chartwell Doors into our business and continuing our journey over the new financial year.”

Ken Norish, managing director of Chartwell Doors and Security Solutions Ltd, said: “Chartwell Doors has grown strongly over the past 10 years – but the business had reached a natural limit that couldn’t be exceeded without external investment.

“Through the acquisition, dormakaba will provide access to an additional customer base, a much broader pool of engineers and the back-office systems we need to ensure efficiency. This is an exciting new horizon and I’m looking forward to working together to achieve continued success in our sector.”
