Concept systems, which use Insight software, and replacement parts will no longer be available from the end of April 2019. Inner Range will continue providing technical support for Concept systems, repairing or replacing parts from existing stock or via suitable alternatives.
However, the manufacturer says migrating to Integriti will future-proof systems and provide myriad operational benefits for the fraction of the cost of an entire system replacement.
Integriti is an integrated security, access control and building automation solution. All system components – like video surveillance, biometrics, fire detection, asset tracking, personnel protection, lighting and HVAC – can be managed from a single interface.
Inner Range says it has found it increasingly difficult to source electrical components for its flagship system, which first launched as Concept 2000 in 1989. Designed by three of Inner Range’s four founders – Doug Frazer, David Baughan and Alan Winch – Concept 2000 was later updated to Concept 3000 and, then, Concept 4000. Thousands of Concept systems have been installed around the globe in its 30-year existence.

“We owe much of our success to the Concept system and we remain very proud of our flagship product,” said Tim Northwood, general manager at Inner Range. “But technology always moves forward. Integriti is a brilliant product for enterprise spaces and offers a very cost-effective migration path for our Concept customers.
“We’ll continue to provide technical support for Concept users but we’re urging them to migrate to Integriti. This will future-proof their system and give them access to a whole host of additional benefits.”
Concept users who migrate to Integriti will benefit from numerous integrations with third-party security and building automation systems, enhanced reporting, more flexibility around global programming and permissions and compatibility with current and future IT platforms, such as Windows and Vista.

Judges were impressed by its cost-effective modular design, the flexibility to either reuse legacy cabling or deliver a dedicated security network, and functionality that includes the ability to control elevators or HVAC systems based on occupancy, real-time audit trails and configurable permissions for a wide range of criteria.
It also combines access control data with management and reporting of alarms – in contrast to many rival systems – and judges also admired the system’s effectiveness during lockdowns or evacuations.
