FLAMEVision FV400 Detector Launched by Tyco Fire Protection Products
Product in a nutshell: Based on S200 technology the FV400 detector range is designed to reduce the risk of false alarms in hazardous environments
Sectors/verticals: Oil and gas, petrochemical and industrial processing facilities.
Features:
- FV400 detectors combine triple infra-red (IR) solar blind technology that filters background radiation from other heat sources or reflected sunlight
- Flame detection algorithms provide high performance sensing capabilities, enabling reliable flame detection through high densities of solvent vapours and black smoke from many types of hydrocarbon fires like alcohol or aviation fuels
- High sensitivity to flame throughout field of view increases chances of accurate early detection, extinguishing fires safely and effectively
- Wide detection range up to 65m for a 0.1m2 n-heptane pan fire
- An optional integrated flameproof camera provides additional visual verification, helping site operators take rapid action if manual intervention is required
Compatibility: Multiple field interfaces ensure integration into plant DCS/PLC systems via MODBUS, relay contacts, conventional or 4-20mA protocols or directly to the Tyco ZETTLER fire detection system, which collects data and connects to the site safety system through the addressable control panel.
Manufacturer says: “Reliability and cost effectiveness is key for specialist and hazardous applications,” says special hazards product manager, fire detection, Irene Fernández Camin. “False alarms have a significant impact on plant operations and ineffective flame detection increases the risk of a serious fire event.
“Our FLAMEVision brand is renowned for fast acting and accurate flame detection, offering superior performance compared to conventional UV-based sensor technology. As part of our commitment to developing innovative and advanced solutions that improve life safety, our FV400 flame detectors use highly sensitive and reliable technology for consistent performance across a range of industrial environments.”
