BT set to explore how to embrace digital transformation with ‘The Future is Now Live’

With digital transformation processes having only accelerated as a result of COVID-19, BT is hosting its ‘Future is Now Live’ event. Insights from digital transformation leaders are set to provide examples to those in other industries, such as security, of how to embrace the change.

BT-FutureIsNow-20With coronavirus having reportedly sped up UK companies’ digital strategy by an average of 5.3 years, there has never been a more critical time to seek out inspiration for your digital transformation journey, explains BT.

And security is by no means left out of this process. In an industry that has very much embraced technology advancements – from video surveillance systems integrated with AI, to biometrics and access control – security professionals need to be on top of the latest developments. Guarding companies are increasingly moving away from traditional pen and paper processes to manage shift patterns, while CCTV operators are looking to understand how video analytics can reduce false alarms and improve operational efficiency.

It’s not just the case in the physical security sphere, either. Teams in this space are increasingly needing to better understand the world of cyber security, how it may affect their own systems and processes, and why they need to ensure appropriate protections are in place.

Today, some 79% of global executives rank cyber-attacks and threats as one of their organisation’s highest risk management priorities in 2020. IT decision-makers are not only including cyber security among their top considerations when it comes to digital transformation, but it is also their second biggest investment priority (35%), just below the cloud (37%), according to a recent Altimeter survey.

The Future is Now is BT’s one-hour live event looking at how successful digital transformation has strong leadership at its core. From Excel Esports changing the game in the Esports industry, to Archant transforming their working culture, BT will be exploring the role technology is playing in enabling a new world of work.

Taking place on 1 October at 15:00 – 16:00 with host, technologist and broadcaster David McClelland, the event will feature:

  • Robin McCammon, Chief Commercial Officer at Excel Esports. This trailblazing British company is redefining sport through competitive gaming. And with new leadership’s ‘fail fast, move on’ mentality, they’re backing bold ideas to help move the business forward.
  • Justin Parsons, Technology Director at Archant. Media leaders, Archant, are championing change in their business by using technology as an enabler to provide their workforce with greater flexibility.
  • Michael Sherman, BT’s Chief Strategy and Transformation Officer. Providing expert advice and insight on leading a digital transformation journey in one of the UK’s largest organisations and reflecting on how Excel Esports and Archant can be a blueprint for your success.
