Axis Security chosen to protect Hyde Park Hayes in West London

Axis Security is supplying a rotational team of seven officers to cover day, night and weekend shifts that will involve monitoring CCTV, conducting patrols and carrying out reception duties, such as signing visitors in and out.

Axis Security was appointed by global property consultancy Knight Frank, with whom it has previously worked on other sites including Condor House, a six-floor building opposite St Pauls, and Portman Square in central London.

Simon Cheetham, estate manager for Hyde Park Hayes (where he has worked for more than 14 years), says that this site currently comprises four buildings and three development plots over 10 acres.

“We have approximately 1,000 people using the site, many of them on a 24/7 basis, and we believe that a manned presence backed up by our network of over 50 CCTV cameras gives our tenants complete peace of mind.”

Comprehensive and effective management structure

To ensure best value along with Best Practice, Cheetham explained that the guarding contract for the business park was put out to tender.

“We felt that the proposals put forward by Axis Security demonstrated the company was able to manage the site professionally, had a comprehensive and effective management structure in place to support the operation and offered its staff – our security officers – a package that could not be matched by its competitors.”

Cheetham reports that, since the contract started, he has had regular contact with Axis Security.

“Our account manager is open and honest and has earned my complete trust. I have been really impressed by how smoothly the TUPE process was implemented with no issues, which maintained the morale of operational staff throughout the transition process and made me feel confident that I had made the right choice of supplier.”

Cheetham concluded: “In fact, I believe that the operational staff seem much happier in their roles and have been working more effectively together.”

Jonathan Levine, group CEO of Axis Security, believes it’s a privilege to be working with the team at Hyde Park Hayes.

“I’m pleased that Axis Security has been able to provide an ideal solution to suit the needs of this prestigious site, and look forward to further strengthening this close working relationship.”
