Dormakaba in the Attack Testing Zone 2019

WATCH: Padlocks under attack from drills, hammers and wire cutters

Security doors, perimeter fencing, shutters and covers were attacked with a range of handheld tools, including drills, hammers and wire cutters, at IFSEC 2019’s Attack Testing Zone.

Technicians from the LPCB, part of BRE Global, put  approved and unapproved versions of security products through their paces at ExCel London between 18-20 June. The results demonstrated unequivocally the gamble organisations take by procuring products without relevant approvals and certifications. This is particularly vital in critical infrastructure environments like airports, utilities and government buildings.

In the video below you can see how a range of dormakaba padlocks fared under a barrage of attacks versus unapproved equivalents.

Burnished by third-party certification LPCB’s Loss Prevention Standards (LPS) are widely recognised and applied in fire and security sectors around the world. At the LCPB Attack Testing Zone LPCB technicians put non-approved products to the test alongside LPCB-approved alternatives that have achieved a minimum of LPS 1175 SR-3 compliance.

dormakaba is one of the world’s largest providers of access control and security solutions in the world, with 16,000 employees working across 130 countries.
