Phybridge presented the world’s first Ethernet Coax Management Switch at the Benchmark Innovation Arena at IFSEC 2015.
With the recent acquisition of NVT, the Canadian Communication Company Phybridge is taking the first steps into the security industry market.
The two merging companies have quickly generated impressive results, creating the world’s first Enterprise Grade EoC Switch.
Applying telecommunication technology to a video surveillance system, Phybridge has made a 24-port CLEER switch, which can provide fast Enterprise Grade Ethernet over a coax switch.
The award-winning switch will help customers that want to migrate from analogue cameras over a coax structure.
“We really help the customer to accelerate their return on investment,” said Stuart Harris, NVT national sales manager. “Batch planning and deployment cycles eliminate infrastructure barriers, risks and disruption as well as network complexity to ultimately create a robust platform that is in line with industry best practice.”
The switch
Looking in detail, the innovative CLEER Switch presents:
• 24 downlink ports
• Ec link adapters
• Management and console ports
• 2x 1GB Ethernet ports
• 2x 1GB fibre parts
• Industry leading power
“The power is the most crucial point, we don’t’ want our cameras to power down,” added Stuart. “So every one of our switches comes standard with leading industry leading power wise technology and power supply.”
A simple process
The final topology a customer would usually have is a DVR connected to the camera through the Proax infrastructure.
Instead, migrating to IP with the CLEER Switch will simplify the process in these three steps:
• Take the uplink port of the clear switch and connect it into the NVR
• Take the BNC connector off of the DVR putting it into CLEER Switch’s downlink ports
• Take the switch’s easy link adaptor and connect the Ethernet cable to the IP camera
In addition, thanks to the interface management of the system, it will be possible to turn the power of a specific camera off from anywhere in the world, without having to directly reset the camera.
