Security professionals from several higher educational institutions including the University of Bristol, the University of Reading, Buckinghamshire New University gathered at the Sheraton Park Tower Hotel in London, were also taught about typical HEI migrating from Mifare Classic to DESfire and replacing magnetic stripe cards with DESfire cards, among other access-related developments.
Salto accesses all areas
Aznar Sethna from Salto’s headquarters in Spain talked about card access control.
He also gave an overview of Salto’s Data-On-Card, Virtual Network and RFID wireless technologies as well as new products like the Saltogeo electronic cylinder, designed to deliver electronic access control to those doors, such listed wooden doors, where fitting conventional electronic escutcheons is not permitted or possible.
Learning about integration UK marketing manager for the company, Keith Carey, said: “This event was a great way to inform and update existing and potential end users in Higher Education Institutions on the latest advances in campus access control technology.
“Several attendees commented on how valuable it was for them to learn about new technical capabilities and solutions available, and the significant cost savings that could be had by integrating a battery operated wire free stand alone system with an existing hard wired perimeter access protection system.”
